If you haven't done Part 1 or 2 of this assignment, make sure that you go back and complete them before going any further!
The format for turning a beat/loop into a full song typically goes like this:
INTRO 1-9
CHORUS 9-17
VERSE 17-33
CHORUS 33-41
VERSE 41-57
CHORUS 57-65
VERSE 65-81
CHORUS 81-89
OUTRO 89-97
An intro is the beginning of the a song. The chorus is usually a part of the song where the lyrics may repeat AND all of the instruments in the beat play. The verse is where the rapper or singer would get their time to showcase their abilities/talk about a subject. The outro is, you guessed it, the ending of the song. Many songs fade out during the outro. Today lets just begin by making our Intro, our First Chorus, and our First Verse.
1. Open Reason
2. Open your beat titled (YOUR NAME) FULL SONG.
3. Your beat should have 4 items on the track: Redrum, Dr. REX, and 2 Melodies. All of your patterns on the track should have been copied until the reach the #33.
4. Lets start with making our INTRO. Our INTRO will happen between #1-9. It's the beginning of the song. For your intro, try something like deleting all of your Redrum from #1-9 and maybe the first half of the Dr. REX. A step like this will give the beat more build up & can make a listener more excited about the song.
5. Next is our CHORUS. For our FIRST CHORUS which happens at #9-17, ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS WILL PLAY. Let's not delete anything here and move to the next step.
6. Now we're at our FIRST VERSE. For our FIRST VERSE which happens at #17-33, we want to give our rapper or singer room to show their skills. For our FIRST VERSE, Let's delete just ONE of the melodies from the entire verse. Now lets delete 1/2 of the Dr. REX boxes from the FIRST VERSE.
Good work! We're now 1 step closer to having our full beat complete!
