Redrum Quiz

Welcome to the very first quiz of the class. For todays quiz, we're going to make a beat with 2 patterns and copy it to the track. If the instructions are difficult, look at the pictures. They should help you out. As we get better with making beats in the class, the quizzes may get harder. Lets start!

1. Open Reason
2. If you don't see it, CREATE:Mixer 14:2
3. Set your Tempo to anything between 80 and 110 BPM
4. Create a Redrum
5. On the Redrum: click on the Folder on Sound 1
6. Go To Xclusive Drums Sorted and Select 04_Claps. Pick any clap you want.
   
7. After you have chosen a Clap put it on the usual boxes for claps.
8. On the Redrum: click on the Folder on Sound 2
9. Go to Xclusive Drums Sorted: 01_Bass Drums
10. Pick any Bass Drum (BD) and put it on the usual boxes for bass drums.
11. On the Redrum: click on the Folder on Sound 3
12. Go to Xclusive Drums Sorted: 05_HiHats
13. Pick any Hi Hat and put it on the usual boxes for a Hi Hat.
14. SAVE YOUR BEAT as (your name) redrum quiz!
15. Now make a new pattern on PATTERN 2
16. Select Sound 1, put the clap on the usual boxes.
17. Select Sound 2, put the bass drum on the usual boxes. Try to make it sound a little different from pattern 1.
    
18. Select Sound 3, put the hi hat on the usual boxes.
19. Now, select Pattern 1. Move the "R" on the sequencer to 5. Right Click on The Redrum and Copy Pattern To Track.
20. Now, select Pattern 2. Move the "R" to 9 and the "L" to 5. Right Click on The Redrum and Copy Pattern to Track.
21. Move the "L" back to 1.
    
22. Click on the Pattern button on the Redrum
23. Save your beat in your file as (Your Name) Redrum Quiz.
    
24. When you are finished, let me or Vernell know and we'll check your work.
